Dr. Bhawna Gautam is a highly accomplished dental and public health professional dedicated to promoting holistic wellbeing. She completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2005 and is an NZREX-certified practitioner. She further advanced her education with a Master’s degree in Public Health in 2007 and a Master’s in Health Promotion in 2008.

As a specialist in Dental Sleep Medicine, Dr. Bhawna provides expert care for patients experiencing snoring and teeth grinding (bruxism). Her clinical experience spans both public and private sectors, including work at the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne and Monash University, where she served as an Academic Advisor.

She has also played a vital role in public health initiatives, such as her work with the City of Casey to promote healthy eating habits in children, reflecting her commitment to preventive health education.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Bhawna is a respected motivational writer and speaker. She shares daily inspiration through her active presence on social media, where her content resonates with a wide and growing audience. She is the author of a published inspirational book and has been interviewed by SBS Radio for her contributions to personal development and community wellbeing. Dr. Pawan Gautam is a dedicated and experienced general dentist who is passionate about providing high-quality, patient-centered dental care. He completed his Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2006 and successfully passed the New Zealand Registration Examination (NZREX), allowing him to practice dentistry in New Zealand.

With a strong clinical foundation and years of experience in both public and private dental settings, Dr. Pawan brings a well-rounded approach to dentistry. His key areas of interest include orthodontics and dental extractions, where he combines attention to detail with a gentle and reassuring manner. He is a member of Progressive Orthodontics, through which he continues to deepen his expertise in contemporary orthodontic techniques and smile correction.

Dr. Pawan is committed to making dental care a comfortable and positive experience for his patients. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, he tailors each treatment to meet individual needs and aims to achieve long-term oral health and confidence in every smile.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Pawan enjoys spending time with his family, especially playing sports with his young son. He also loves exploring the outdoors, going on camping trips, and engaging in activities that bring him closer to nature.

Dr. Yuval Samuni – DDS, PhD
Specialist Oral Surgeon | Expert in Implant Dentistry

Dr. Yuval is a highly accomplished specialist Oral Surgeon with extensive training, academic achievements, and clinical experience spanning over two decades. He earned his dental degree in 1996 from the Hadassah-Hebrew University School of Dental Medicine in Israel, followed by a rigorous residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which he completed in 2004.

In addition to his clinical qualifications, Dr. Yuval holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has completed a prestigious post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR/NIH) in the United States. His strong academic background has led to numerous contributions to the dental field through book chapters and scientific publications in respected international journals.

Dr. Yuval has a special interest in implant dentistry, where he combines scientific precision with clinical excellence. His depth of knowledge and hands-on expertise in this area make him a sought-after provider for complex implant cases and surgical procedures.

Known for his calm demeanor, patient-focused approach, and commitment to excellence, Dr. Yuval strives to make every patient feel confident and cared for throughout their treatment journey.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Yuval cherishes time with his wife, their three children, and two beloved dogs. He enjoys hiking with family and friends, and is an avid reader, particularly drawn to history books and biographies.

Dr Mohammed El Hazek-BDS, MClinDent (Endodontics)
General Dentist with a Special Interest in Root Canal Treatment

Dr. Mo is a highly skilled and experienced general dental practitioner with a strong focus on endodontics (root canal therapy). He graduated with his dental degree in 2000 and went on to complete his Master’s degree in Endodontics in 2009. His advanced training was undertaken in Egypt, where he practiced extensively as a specialist endodontist.

With over 18 years of international clinical experience, Dr. Mo brings a wealth of knowledge and technical precision to every procedure. Since relocating to Australia, he has continued to deliver high-quality care, particularly in the management of complex root canal cases.

Dr. Mo’s approach to dentistry is meticulous and compassionate, helping patients feel at ease even during the most challenging treatments. He is committed to achieving optimal outcomes by using the latest techniques and evidence-based practices in endodontic care.

He is an active member of both the Australian Society of Endodontology and the American Association of Endodontists, reflecting his dedication to ongoing education and professional development.

Maria Jessie Marriner
Dental Technician & Prosthetist

Maria brings over 18 years of experience in dental technology and has been working as a Dental Prosthetist for the past 5 years. She completed both the Diploma of Dental Technology and the Advanced Diploma of Dental Prosthetics at RMIT University, where she gained the skills and expertise to design, construct, and fit a wide range of dental prostheses.

With a strong eye for detail and a deep understanding of patient needs, Maria is passionate about creating high-quality, comfortable, and natural-looking dentures and oral appliances. Her dedication to precision and patient care makes her a trusted and valued member of our team.

Outside of her professional work, Maria enjoys spending time with her beloved dogs and cherishes traveling with her family whenever she has the chance. Her warm personality and commitment to helping people smile with confidence are reflected in everything she does.

Sheryl Faustino
Practice Manager

Sheryl has been an integral part of our practice for nearly 10 years. She began her journey with us as a Front Desk Coordinator and has since grown into her current role as Practice Manager, where she plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

With extensive experience in both management and administration, Sheryl is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and care. Her exceptional organizational skills and strong work ethic allow her to oversee both front-end and behind-the-scenes activities, ensuring everything runs seamlessly.

Lavanya has finished her Cert III in dental assisting at Menzies Institute in April 2018. She really enjoys working with all age groups and assisting them with their oral care, “It is rewarding to part of wonderful team at Afford2Smile dental clinic. It excited to part future of practice”, according to lovely colleague. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and cooking.
